5-15-25 THOUGHTS
In the reading below, the body of fleshly sin is removed “through faith in the working of God.”
It is a heavenly scene, “made without hands”. In the same scene, we are raised up with Him, again “through faith in the working of God”. The scene is encompassed by the words “in which you were also...” Removal and Resurrection are in the same scene! We must not lose God’s Part in this scene! In Him (Christ) we are made complete. It’s a most beautiful picture if we have “ears to hear” [there’s some play on words here...]. God’s Love is the picture!
Col 2:8-12 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. 9 For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, 10 and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority; 11 and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ; 12 having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. [see Rom 6:3-11 It’s quite a picture...]
My Prayer:
Father, thank You for the wonderful picture of Jesus the Christ. Thank You for making us complete in Him. Thank You for His death, burial and resurrection that gives us peace and reconciliation with You, O God. Grace and mercy has come down, and given us eternal possibility. In faith and hope, O God, help us to strive with our all to please you in fruitful love. Keep us humble and unselfish as we live out being in Your image. In the name of our Savior, Amen.
